On December 2, 2002, Mr. Hairmann Hayak and team welcomed Assyafaah as the first officially registered recipient to start getting donations via GivingFridays. The soft launch was held during the Friday prayers hour.
Masjid Assyafaah is the 5th mosque in Singapore under phase 3 of the Mosque Building Fund (MBF) scheme. It is prominently located at the junction between Canberra Road and Admiralty Lane at Sembawang HDB New Town. The mosque was completed by February 2024. Its inaugration or Waqaf Ceremony was officiated by Mufti of Singapore, Syed Isa Mohd Semait on April 9, 2004.
The mosque complex is intended to be a focal point of community activities, catering to the social and spiritual needs of the Muslim community. It is a 4-storey building, which can accommodate approximately 4,000 congregants at a time.
Users can now donate to Assyafaah through their scheduling tool powered by GivingFridays by either scanning the QR code given above or going to give.assyafaah.sg.
