As an attendee of the first-ever Singapore Volunteer Management Conference, organized by NCSS and SUSS, I would like to share my experience and insights on the event. The conference aimed to elevate volunteer management capabilities and brought together the entire volunteer management community, showcasing trends and practices for effective volunteer management and engagement.
The conference was graced by notable guests such as Mr. Lawrence Wong, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Finance, who was the Guest-of-Honour. Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Speaker of Parliament, Advisor to NCSS, and Co-Chair of SG Cares, was also present as a Special Guest. The conference started with opening remarks from Professor Tan Tai Yong, SUSS President.
The highlight of the conference was the panel dialogue titled “Be the Change We Want to See”. The panel was moderated by Professor Ang Hak Seng, Director, Centre of Excellence for Social Good, Singapore University. The panel featured notable speakers from the volunteer management community who shared their experiences and insights on the current trends and practices for effective volunteer management and engagement. The dialogue provided a platform for the attendees to engage with the speakers and to ask questions and share their views.
