What They Do

In recognition of its architectural excellence, Darul Ghufran Mosque received an “Honourable Mention” from the 3rd Singapore Institute of Architects’ Architectural Design Award in 1991. The mosque underwent a two-year closure for renovation and reopened at the end of 1999, conducting its activities in a nearby musolla during that period.

However, as the community in Tampines continued to flourish, the mosque required significant upgrades. From September 2016 to March 2019, the Blue Minaret underwent extensive renovation works and was temporarily closed. During this time, all activities were held in a musolla situated adjacent to the current site.

The new and improved mosque was officially inaugurated on 20th April 2019 by Madam President Halimah Yacob. It proudly stands as Singapore’s largest mosque, boasting a capacity to accommodate 5,500 individuals and covering a floor area of 5,910 square meters.
