Why GivingFridays Uses Licensed Payment Gateways

GivingFridays is designed as a non-custodian platform. This means that GivingFridays does not hold, receive, or manage donation funds on behalf of organisations.

Instead, all donations are processed through licensed payment gateways such as PayPal, 2C2P, or DOKU. These regulated financial providers handle the payment processing, compliance checks, and settlement of funds.

Once a donor schedules a contribution on GivingFridays, the transaction is processed directly by the payment gateway and the funds are transferred straight to the organisation’s designated account.

This structure ensures:

✅ Transparency – donations go directly to the recipient
Security – transactions are handled by regulated payment providers
Compliance – payment gateways conduct KYC, AML, and fraud checks
Independence – organisations maintain full control of their own funds

GivingFridays focuses on automating recurring donations and connecting donors with organisations, while the payment gateways provide the secure financial infrastructure required to process the transactions.

Our approved payment gateways

What is a payment gateway?

A payment gateway is a secure technology that processes online payments by connecting donors, banks, and organisations. It encrypts transaction data, verifies payment details, and transfers funds safely to the recipient’s account.

PayPal – International Payment Gateway

Accept international donations using PayPal

Through PayPal, GivingFridays enables organisations to receive donations using PayPal accounts, debit cards, and credit cards from supporters worldwide.
Once activated, scheduled donations are processed securely and funds are transferred directly to the organisation’s PayPal account. PayPal was the first payment gateway integrated into the GivingFridays platform and continues to serve as the anchor international payment gateway supporting our global donation capabilities.

Recurring donations are transferred directly into the masjid’s bank account via SenangPay

The masjid only needs to submit a few simple documents. Once approved, donations scheduled through GivingFridays flow automatically into the masjid’s bank account through SenangPay’s secure payment infrastructure.
This allows the masjid to focus on serving the ummah, while donors continue supporting the masjid consistently. Set it up once. The system handles the rest.

For Organisations in Singapore

Donors in Singapore can contribute using PayNow or card payments

GivingFridays integrates with 2C2P, enabling donors to contribute using familiar options such as PayNow, debit cards, and credit cards.
Once the gateway is activated, scheduled donations are processed securely and the funds are transferred directly to the organisation’s designated bank account.

Accept donations across Indonesia using QRIS and local payment methods

Through DOKU, GivingFridays enables organisations to receive donations using widely adopted Indonesian payment channels including QRIS and bank transfers.
This allows donors across Indonesia to support organisations using payment methods they already trust, while funds are securely settled into the organisation’s bank account.
