Mr. Hairmann Hayak, Board Member of Al-Mukminin Mosque, attended the M3 Post Budget Dialogue 2022 with three of Singapore’s ministers.

Post-Budget Dialogue sessions are organized to create a platform for the Malay Muslim community of our country to share their feedback and clarify any doubts they have concerning the budget.

Mr. Hairmann was part of community engagement with the Honorable Minister, Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, to empower and care for the Malay Muslim community. He represented the Al-Mukminin Mosque in engaging the ministers and highlighting areas of concern, especially about helping the vulnerable pay for school fees.

He asked if the ministries can create awareness campaigns targeting the vulnerable and less fortunate, with a message that “it is ok to receive” and that by receiving, you allow the giver to earn blessings.

In response to the issues raised by Mr. Hairmann and others, Mr. Masagos Zulkifli highlighted that the Government will continue to put in the effort to ensure all Singaporeans have access to reasonable housing and healthcare. He also mentioned that various rebates will be offered to cope with the upcoming GST raise.

However, he believes that workers need to play their role to upskill themselves in order to remain competitive and employable. Acknowledging that families are the key institutions that a nation’s progress and development rely on, he called upon the leaders to help strengthen the family units in Singapore.

It was a warm and welcoming session in which leaders of the Malay Muslim community, including Mr. Hairmann Hayak, felt heard and acknowledged for their concerns.
