As Muslims, our standard of cleanliness and personal hygiene should be extremely high. In Islam, good personal hygiene is required at all times. In fact, our physical purity is very much tied with our spiritual purity.

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Cleanliness is half of faith.”

One of the requirements for one’s salah (prayer) to be valid is the cleanliness of the space in which you pray on.

Abu Dharr reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever takes a bath on a Friday and does it well, and purifies himself and does it well, and puts on his best clothes, and puts on whatever Allah decrees for him of the perfume of his family, then comes to the mosque and does not engage in idle talk or separate (pushing between) two people; he will be forgiven for (his sins) between that day and the previous Friday.” (Ibn Majah and authenticated by Al-Albani)

In March 22 2022, Mr. Hairmann Hayak and family members helped and participated in the spring cleaning activity of the Al-Mukminin Mosque.

Knowing the importance of cleanliness in Islam, he devoted his time and energy for the benefit of his fellow Muslims who visit and offer prayers at the mosque on a daily basis.

Conducting spring cleaning activity at a mosque on a regular basis reflects self-discipline in the community. It helps the worshippers offer their prayers with more focus, comfort, and dedication.

Those who participate in such acts do so as a form of sedekah. Besides providing financial support, this is another way of showing your sincerity and making your contribution toward the benefit of the fellow Muslim brothers and sisters living in your community.
